We predict the 2018 Betfred Super League Table by the end of the regular season – Where does your team finish.
12 Widnes Vikings
With no real big signings in the off-season, the Vikings list is lacking the quality of players to be competitive in Super League in 2018. The Sad thing is the fans know this, which could lead to a long season for the Viking faithful.
Expect Danny Craven to have a larger role in 2018, the 25-year-old, who can play at half-back, full-back and hooker, was a quality re-signing by the club, but the lack of talent around him is troublesome.
The signing of Krisnan Inu from Catalans Dragons will help add some fire power on the edges, but it will unlikely be enough for the Vikings to avoid battling to remain in Super League.
11 Catalans Dragons
It will take more than 6 months for Steve McNamara to turn things around in Perpignan with the Catalans. The Dragons were below average for much of the season.
The loss of play-maker Richard Myler will be telling, as he was by far their best player in 2017. But, the addition of former NRL Brisbane Bronco and Gold Coast Titan David Mead will add plenty of speed in the backline and will a weapon for McNamara.
Expect the Dragons and Vikings to battle it out for the bottom spot on the ladder.
10 Hull Kingstone Rovers
Tim Sheens has assembled a team that will be in Super League in 2018, as they won relegation back into first grade after a devastating departure 12 months prior.
The addition of Danny McGuire will add some much needed finish and experience, but expect a roller-coaster season with some highs and many lows, but KR fans will be glad just to be back in the big leagues again.
9 Salford Red Devils
Off Field dramas will have an effect on the playing performance in 2018, as the front office has made it almost impossible for Ian Watson and his coaching team to be competitive in 2018.
The loss Ben Murdoch-Masila will be a huge blow up from and I expect the Red Devils will struggle to beat the top 6 teams in these rankings this season.
