NRL Starting Hookers Ranked Heading into 2018

The new season is quickly approaching and that means one thing and one thing only…POWER RANKINGS.

Here’s our countdown of the best hookers in the league heading into the 2018 season.

16 Craig Garvey

Will be given every opportunity to shine in the Nation’s Capital in 2018. The knee injury to Josh Hodgson will give Garvey plenty of opportunity, will he grab it?

15 Matt McIlwrick

Lacks the fundamental skill of dummy-half play; passing.

Has a zippy running style and tackles all day.

14 Michael Lichaa

Has a very no frills style of play, but that’s not necessarily what his club needed with its new halves pairing.

Does not lack effort, however.

13 Kaysa Pritchard

Young and exciting, just needs to stay healthy and on the park.

12 Jamie Buhrer

Buhrer will complement a team that has plenty of buzz around it in 2018.

Has the ability to break lines and set up tries – injuries are a concern.

11 Jake Granville

Seems to get better as he gets older.
