The Huddersfield Giants are currently in negotiations with Bradford Bulls young gun Alex Mellor for the 2017 season.
Mellor, 22, has made 51 appearances for the Bulls since his debut in the 2013 season. The talented youngster has the ability to play in the second-row or in the centre position and is regarded as one the most promising up and coming players in the second-tier competition.
It is understood that there are a number of Super League clubs chasing for the services of the 22-year old, but it is believed Huddersfield is leading the pack and will continue to add to their list of players they have signed from the Bulls in the 2016 which include, Paul Clough, Lee Gaskell and Dale Ferguson.
Huddersfield Coach Rick Stone believes Mellor can fill the hole that opened up when Joe Wardle signed with NRL Club the Newcastle Knights.
