The Newcastle Knights are believed to have made contact with Manly, regarding the availability of Brenton Lawrence for the 2017 Season.
It is understood Manly have been shopping Brenton Lawrence around to rival clubs and the Knights have flagged their interest in the Sea Eagles forward.
Lawrence, 31, is currently contracted with Manly until the end of the 2017 season, the Sea Eagles are willing to offload Lawrence, who has only managed 10 games in the past two seasons.
Lawrence had a serious back injury in the 2015 which saw him play just the 1 game for the season. Then in 2016, Lawrence injured his pectoral muscle which again made him miss the majority the season.
Nathan Brown is reportedly looking for a experience forward to replace the hole that is left by the retirement of Jeremy Smith and Lawerence is believed to fit this build, as a fit and firing Lawrence is a dangerous prospect for rival clubs.
The Knights were also heavily linked with Canberra’s workhorse Shaun Fensom, but they talks have believed to have stalled, as the Knights try to bring rookie sensation Kalyn Ponga to the Knights for the 2017 season.
