Warrington Wolves have signed former Kiwi International Peta Hiku effective immediately on a 2 and half year deal.
Peta Hiku, 24, has been granted a release from the Penrith Panthers, to join the Warrington before the NRL’s June 30 deadline.
Hiku is a former Kiwi International who has represented New Zealand on 9 occasions and has 81 NRL game appearances for the Manly Sea Eagles (61) and Penrith (20), and will give Tony Smith options in his backline as Hiku can player either Fullback, Centre or on the wing.
The deal is expected to be officially announce within the coming days and Hiku we depart Australia for England to commence his VISA process.
It is understood that Hiku could be available to play for Warrington as early their clash with the Catalans Dragons next week. Hiku joins former NRL star Ben Pomeroy, who Warrington signed during the week.
Warrington take on Wigan Saturday in the Challenge Cup at Halliwell Jones Stadium and Tony Smith be hoping to advance in the next round for the chance to take some silverware home in what has been a disappointing season to date.
