The Canberra Raiders have reportedly told talented play-maker, Blake Austin he is unwanted past the 2018 season.
It is understood that some within the club want to keep him. Others aren’t as convinced, unless he lowers his wage demands.
The club is believed to have made their decision, informing the 27-year old that he is no longer required for the 2019 season. Rivals aren’t exactly beating a path to Austin’s door either, so a departure before June 30th seems very unlikely.
The 2015 Dally M five-eighth has clearly fallen out of favour with head coach Ricky Stuart, but it is understood Super League clubs have shown interest in the play-maker, with Super League Giants Leeds Rhino’s believed to be leading the race for his services for the 2019 season.
Austin who managed to make his 100th NRL appearance recently is expected to make a decision on his playing future within the coming weeks.
