It may be the NRL off-season but the coaching merry-go-round is in full swing.
Brisbane Broncos boss Wayne Bennett is strongly considering a long-term deal that would see him coach the Wests Tigers in 2019.
It is understood the current Tigers coach Ivan Cleary has reportedly signed a three-year deal to return to the Penrith Panthers from 2021.
The Tigers initially pushed back hard on Penrith’s audacious bid to lure Ivan back to the club, but it is now believe that the Wests Tigers have contacted the Panthers regarding the possibility of buying out Cleary’s contract to make way for Bennett’s arrival.
Bennett, who turns 69 in January, was last month told by the Broncos board his services will not be required at Red Hill beyond 2019.
