Reports have surfaced that Brisbane Broncos Centre James Roberts will return to Gold Coast Titans If Bennett Joins the Club in 2019.
Roberts, 25, joined the Broncos at the end of the 2015 season from the Gold Coast, where he continued on his Dally M winning ways at Brisbane. It now all could come to a end, as Roberts has a ‘get-out-clause’ in his latest contract with Brisbane, stating that if Wayne Bennett departs the club then he is free to walk also.
It is understood the Titans are offering Roberts a hefty pay rise if he became available due to Bennett joining the Rabbitohs for next season.
Roberts is currently contracted until the end of the 2019 with the Broncos where he has made 73 appearances, scoring 36 tries and debut for the Blues in 2018, successfully winning the series.
The Dominoes are set to fall if Wayne Bennett decides to depart the Broncos 12 months early.
