Bennett/Seibold Coach swap roadblock

Money is the major a hurdle in getting a coach swap done between South Sydney and the Brisbane Broncos. Approximately $1 million dollars is standing in the way of Wayne Bennett and Anthony Seibold switching teams a year earlier than proposed. It is understood Rabbitohs are not prepared to take on all of Bennett’s contract and are happy to have Seibold remain as their head coach for a further 12 months.

Brisbane is the richest club in the NRL and would have no problem paying additional money to quicken the process of Bennett’s departure and what they owe Seibold on top. It’s just the Broncos don’t want to end up in a similar situation like Penrith, who’ll be paying three coaches next season. Expect negotiations will continue as both clubs want the swap to happen.

Star Forward Confident of Round 1 Return!

Matt Gillett has been out of action since April 2018, after a return neck fracture and shoulder reconstruction kept him sidelined for majority of the 2018 season. Gillett is back at pre-season training and confident he can overcome his injuries and be named in the side come round 1 of the 2019 season.

Raiders Target Two Exciting Play-Makers!

It is understood the Raiders are set to land un-wanted Dragons fullback Mat Dufty, after he demanded a payrise from St George, the figure put forward to the club by Dufty’s manager was well over the amount that the Dragons were willing to pay and now the Raiders are circling for the 22-year old signature. The other star play-maker is Warriors halfback Shaun Johnson, who last month was informed by coach Stephen Kearney that he is free to talk to other clubs for the 2019 season. It is understood Ricky Stuart believe he would be a perfect replace for Blake Austin and to partner Aiden Sezer.

Bulldogs In The Hunt For Hayne

The Bulldogs have emerged as a shock bidder for Jarryd Hayne after the NRL superstar conceded his hopes of staying at Parramatta were all but gone. Canterbury who just lost the Morris twins from their backline, would be interested in Hayne if he came at the right price. The $700,000-$800,000 per season he is currently demanding is out of their price range, but would consider a price between $500,000-$600,000, it Hayne would consider it.

Foran Wants To Remain A Bulldog In 2019

Kieran Foran will honour his contract at the Canterbury Bulldogs despite interest from former club Manly. Foran is keen to revive his career and fight for his starting place ahead of new recruit Jack Cogger. Bulldogs target Tom and George Burgess

Bulldogs see one or both of the Burgess twins as ideal replacements for David Klemmer, who is expected he joins the Knights. The Burgess twins are contracted until the end of 2019, but could potentially be given the opportunity to negotiate with other clubs.

Final Warning For Fifita…?

Cronulla Sharks power brokers are understood to have put star forward Andrew Fifita on notice, anymore infractions against the club or coaching staff and his contract would be in jeopardy. Reports surfaced that the club were willing to take phone calls on potentially offloading Fifita before his contract is to expire.
