Reports have surfaced out of Redfern is that try scoring machine Alex Johnston has requested a release from his 2019 contract.
The 23-year old fullback is believed to be less then impressed after it is understood new coach Wayne Bennett has informed him that he will shift to the win in 2019, with either Greg Inglis making the switch to fullback or young gun Corey Allen likely to wear the No.1 jersey.
Several clubs are interested in the speedy utility back and Souths are currently considering whether to let him go.
Parramatta, St George Illawarra, Cronulla and Wests Tigers are believed to be the major players for the services of Johnston if allowed to leave.
Johnston has made 108 NRL appearances for the Rabbitohs since making his debut in Round 8 of the 2014 NRL season. He was selected to make his NRL debut over dumped Rabbitohs winger Nathan Merritt against the Brisbane Broncos on the wing, scoring a try in the 28-26 win at Suncorp Stadium on Anzac Day
