Just 61 days remaining before the June 30th deadline strikes and players are locked into their clubs for the remainder of the 2019 season.
There are two NRL play-makers who have informed their clubs that they want out of their current contract to join a new club.
Broncos halfback, Kodi Nikorima, will miss Thursday’s match against the Rabbitohs, with coach Anthony Seibold giving the halfback a chance to “ponder his future”.
Teenager Tom Dearden will debut in place of Nikorima, who has been linked to an immediate move to the Warriors.
The Warriors have lost Blake Green to a groin injury and the off-season departure of Shaun Johnson has left the Warriors short of experience in the halves.
Nikorima, the New Zealand Test No.7, is expected to sign with the Warriors in the coming days.
Reports out of Canberra is that five-eighth Aidan Sezer wants out of the club before June 30.
Sezer has been unable to break into the Raiders’ top side in recent weeks, with Sam Williams and Jack Wighton sharing the play-making duties.
The former Gold Coast Titan has been playing for Mounties in the NSW Cup but is an NRL-quality player and could easily find a club – if the Raiders release him before the transfer deadline.
With George Williams coming to the club from England next season, the writing is one the wall for Sezer and he is best to get out of the club sooner rather than later.
