Teams Chasing LeGarrette Blount’s Signature

New England’s Super Bowl winning running back is expected to depart Foxboro and there is no shortage of teams chasing his signature.

Blount, 30, signed a 1-year $1 million fully guaranteed contract for the 2016 season.

He produced a career season in 2016, with the former Oregon star running back carrying the ball 299 times for 1,161 yards and a career high 18 touchdowns.

Blount has stated he would “love” to stay with the Patriots, but needs to do what is right for his family and believes he should be rewarded for leading the number of touchdowns scored on the ground.

Blount’s playing time diminished at the end of the season and into the playoffs as James White and Deon Lewis took a larger role, which did not sit well with Blount according to sources.

At 30 years old and Blount showed he still what it takes to be damaging on the ground and a number of teams believe Blount would be a perfect fit for their organisation.

The New York Giants, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers have all expressed their interest in Blount for the 2017 season, but their are many more teams lining up to fight for the services of the 2× Super Bowl champion.

The Washington Redskins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas Chiefs have all joined the race to secure Blount services for 2017.

With the bidding war set to continue – this is only good news for Blount as he is demanding around $4 million per season – a figure the New England Patriots are unwilling to match.
