Wakefield Trinity have confirmed that forward Anthony Tupou is to leave the club after agreeing exit terms.
Tupou 33-year-old was contracted with the club until the end of the 2017 season, but both parties have come to an agreement to end the relationship.
Toupou joined Wakefield at the beginning of the 2016 season from, current NRL premiers, the Cronulla Sharks. He made 18 appearances and scored 4 tries for the Wakefield in his debut season with the club.
It is understood that Toupu who is homesick, expressed his desire to return to Australian at the conclusion of the 2016 season.
“Unfortunately things just weren’t working out as we had all hoped, Anthony and his family were suffering a great deal with homesickness. Wakefield Trinity Chairman, Michael Carter said in a statement.
“We wish Anthony and his family the very best for the future.”
