Billy Slater will make is long awaited return against the Brisbane Broncos Friday night.
The club doctors have given Slater, 33, the green light to return to the big stage and there is no bigger stage then at home at AAMI Park against the Broncos.
It is understood that Slater was good to go last week against the Warriors, but it was Slater himself who decided a comeback against the Broncos was more fitting.
Slater feared his career could have been over after a number of set-backs.
“It’s been a tough couple of years but I’ve just tried to not cut the last couple of corners. It’s been a long 12 months for me but I’ll be out there shortly,” Slater said.
“I’ve been in full contact for about a month now and everything’s been going really well.”
Slater is expected to slot straight back into the No.1 Jersey, pushing Cameron Munster into the halves.
The Melbourne Storm are currently undefeated after two rounds and sit 2nd on the ladder behind the Parramatta Eels.
