Whispers are starting to develop that Des Hasler’s time at the Kennel is set to come to an end and is to sign with St George Illawarra for the 2018 season and beyond.
DES Hasler’s dramatic falling out at Canterbury is almost certain to see him switch clubs in 2018 – to St George Illawarra.
Hasler narrowly survived an attempt by disgruntled Bulldogs directors to oust him at the end of the 2016 seasom, it appears almost certain to leave Belmore once his contract expires at the end of 2017.
The Dragons are believed to have made contact with Hasler’s manager George Mimis about his availability for the 2018 season, as the Dragons are set to move on from Paul McGregor at seasons end
Dragons chief executive Peter Doust is under extreme pressure to save his own job and a signing of Des Hasler could allow him to hold on to his position.
There’s still plenty of tension between Hasler and the Bulldogs hierarchy, and only a premiership in 2017 is likely to patch up the problems.
A move of Hasler to the Dragons could see Bulldogs David Klemmer join the coach to the Dragons.
