Eddie Lacy’s much-anticipated rebound season ended before it could really start. Now the running back’s Green Bay future up in the air.
Lacy underwent ankle surgery in September, with the Packers placing him on injured reserve ruling him out of the majority of 2016.
Lacy, 26, is currently playing out the final year of his rookie contract. He becomes an unrestricted free agent at the conclusion of the league year. Given his mounting injury and weight issues, Lacy could very much be looking for a new home in the 2017-18 season.
In 2016, Lacy rushed 71 times for 360 yards over 5 games. His career, Lacy has 788 carries for 3,435 yards and 23 touchdowns, adding another 900 yards and six scores on 101 catches. Lacy won Offensive Rookie of the Year, Pro Bowl, and second-team All-Pro honors in 2013.
We expect lacy to have a lot of interest in the open Market, with a number of teams already flagging their interest in the 2013 2nd round Pick, 61 overall.
