Victor Cruz time at the New York Giants has come to a end when the team announced they had released him Monday morning.
Cruz, 30, has spent 7 season at the Giants after he went undrafted in the 2010 NFL Draft and was signed the day after the draft by the New York Giants.
Cruz was a member of the Giants Super Bowl XLVI winning team in 2011. That same season Cruz had 1536 receiving yards and scored 9 touchdowns. The 2012 season he was awarded his first pro bowl nomination after going for 1092 yards and scoring 10 touchdown.
Cruz suffered a torn patellar tendon, which prematurely ended his 2014 season and it was a injury that Cruz has struggled to come back from and with the arrivals of Odell Beckham and rooke Sterling Shepard, Cruz has fallen down the depth chart.
The Giants will save $7.5 million in salary cap money by cutting the 30-year-old receiver. But is believed Cruz will have a number of his teams wanting his services for the 2017 season.
