Salford Red Devils and Castleford Tigers are believed to be in talks for the services of Justin Carney for the 2017 season.
Carney, 28, signed with the Red Devils at the beginning of the 2016 season but could make a shock return to Castleford, as the Tigers look to replace TRY scoring machine Denny Solomona.
The Carney made 67 appearances for the Castleford between 2013 and 2016, and scored a 72 tries for the Tigers. In his 21 appearance for the Red Devils Carney crossed the line 9 times.
Carney was a big fans’ favourite at Castleford, where he was affectionately known as the “tank on the flank” for the devastating finishing power and would be a welcome addition from the Tiger faithful.
