The Silly Season is in full motion as the Newcastle Knights look to offload Korbin Sims before the start of the 2017 season.
Sims, 24, is believed to be open to the idea of joining a new club for next season. The two clubs who are understood to be interested in Sims services for 2017 are the Brisbane Broncos and the St George-Illawarra Dragons.
The Broncos are reportedly offering Newcastle Joe Ofahengaue as part of a player swap, but the Knights believe that isn’t enough for Sim and are targeting a potential swap with the Dragons.
It is understood Jack de Belin has become disgruntled at the Dragons due to financial reasons and as a result he wants to test the market. The Dragons may offer Jack De Belin for Korbin Sims as part of their player swap deal to try and beat the Broncos for Korbin Sims signature.
Jack de Belin was one of the Dragons better players in 2016 and his form has him knocking on the door of Laurie Daley for a potential Origin spot for New South Wales in 2017.
The inclusion of de Belin to the Newcastle Knights would be a massive coup and could see them avoid the wooden spoon who are currently looking down the barrel for a 3rd consecutive season at the bottom of the ladder.
