New recruit Rory Kostjasyn suffers a injury to his throat and was rushed to hospital.
Kostjasyn, 29, signed with the Newcastle Knights on a 2-year deal after 94 games and a premiership with the NQ Cowboys.
Kostjasyn took a hit to the throat during a training drill and fell to the ground immediately, requiring medical attention. The Club doctors quickly rushed Kostjasyn to hospital for further testing.
“Kostjasyn was hospitalised however he has been discharged today,” a Knights statement read.
“The 29-year-old will be reassessed in four to six weeks to determine a return date to training. At this stage, Kostjasyn is expected to be out for a minimum of six to eight weeks.”
