Luke Gale is expected to be give a “please explain” notice after making contact with the referee in Thursday Nights clash between Castleford and Leeds.
The Rugby League governing body crackdown on players making contact with referees maybe called into question as Castleford Star Luke Gale made contact with the match referee.
Both Gale and the referee Ben Thaler were all smiles when the incident occured, but the rugby league governing body “Zero Tolerance” of contact with any match officials could have Luke Gale and the Castleford Tiger fans have a nervous week.
In the 2016 NRL season St George Illawarra forward Tyson Frizell was suspended for 1 match after making contract with the match referee. (seen belwo)
It is understood the RL judiciary will review the Luke Gale incident once they have received a response from Gale and Ben Thaler about the incident.
The Castleford Tigers are set to take on the Widnes Vikings in round 4 and the loss of Gale would be a huge blow for the club.
