NRL Fantasy Round 2 Captains

There were some massive scores in Round 1 and as we head into Round 2 we need to decide who our Captains will be for this week.

It was Joel Thompson ($420,000 / 2RF) who lead the scoring in round 1, with his hat-trick of tries producing a score of 96pts. But, we have serious doubts that he will be capable of producing those numbers again in round 2.

With Round 2 just days away we select our top 5 Captains for the week.

5 Shaun Johnson ($492,000 / HLF)

Johnson produced a solid 62 pts in round 1 against the Knights and this week he faces the Storm, a team he has played on 7 occasions and currently averages 58.4 against.

Johnsons’ last 3 games against the Storm he has produced 35, 59, 93. His last game against the Storm he scored 35 points and was limited throughout the game due to a groin injury.

Expect big numbers for Johnson this week as the Warriors will be looking for him to get them over the line.

3 game average against the Storm: 62.3

4 Andrew Fifita ($593,000 FRF)

Arguably the most dangerous forward in NRL Fantasy and his did not disappoint in round 1. Posting a respectable 55 pts against the Broncos.

Fifita’s next match up is against the Canberra Raiders where he averages 49.8 points over 6 games. His last 3 scores against the Raiders have been 58, 30, 72.

We are predicting a big game of forwards in this match and Fifita will want to prove he is still No.1 against Ricky Stuarts’ massive forward pack.

3 game average against the Raiders: 53.3

3 Jason Taumalolo ($490,000 / 2FR)

If Fifita is holding down the No.1 title then Taumalolo is right behind him. The current Dally M player of the year (shared with Cooper Cronk) was at his damaging best against the Raiders.

In round 1 Taumalolo produced a massive 78 pts and that is without scoring a try like the majority of the players that out-scored him had done.

Now the Cowboys take on state rivals which some predict will already go into overtime.

Taumalolo has not produced his best scores against the Broncos, but we expect he will break that trend this week.

Taumalolo last 3 scores against the Broncos were 56, 39, 36. If you have Taumalolo in your line up it will be extremely hard not to place the big ‘C’ on his chest this week against the Broncos.

3 game average against the Broncos: 43.6
