It is understood there is a lot more riding on this match then just two points. Another heavy defeat, especially at home could spell the end of Des Hasler’s Time at Belmore. With his back against the Wall, Des Hasler needs his players to lift and to be at their best if he wants to save his job.

Hasler was forced to make a change during the week due to the suspension of Moses Mybe. Hasler has confirmed that Matt Frawley will be his replacement for the match.

Brad Abbey retains his spot at fullback for at least another week after whispers of Brett Morris making the move to fullback after Abbey has struggles slightly in the position.

It is believed Des Hasler has informed Bulldogs hooker Michael Lichaa that he needs to improve his attacking game going forward, if he wants to retain the No.9 jersey. With Craig Garvey and talented young hooker Zac Woolford waiting in the wings to replace him.

Reports during the week indicated that Adam Blair was in serious doubt for the Bulldogs clash, with a corked calf restricting him during the weeks training sessions. Wayne Bennett informed the media Wednesday afternoon after the Captain’s Run, that Blair is a certain starter for Thusday night.

Wayne Bennett is expected to make one late change with Kodi Nikorima a chance on finding a spot on the bench as the Broncos utility player. Herman Essese or Jai Arrow will be the unlucky players to fall out of the side.

David Mead is set to sit another week out of the first grade side, with rumours continuing to grow about Mead wanting out of his Broncos contract, with the hope of playing first grade with another team. The Broncos have denied all reports and have stated that David Mead is a required player.
