The Canberra Raiders are believed to be pleased with the progress that Dave Taylor has made during his train and trial contract and understood to have offered him a 12 month contract with the option for a second year.
Taylor, 28, looks set to add to his 170 NRL game career in 2017 with Ricky Stuart and the Raiders willing to give Taylor a NRL life line, he has been chasing all pre-season.
Taylor is yet to miss a single training session and has lost over 10 kilograms during the pre-season campaign.
The NRL’s Integrity Unit is likely to sign off on Dave Taylor’s contract request from the Raiders as Taylor received no conviction against him from the courts after his cocaine arrest that saw him play in the Super League in 2016.
The Raiders are expected to announce the deal early next week.
