Castleford Tigers stand-off Rangi Chase is expected to have his contract terminated after the Tigers launch internal investigation
Chase, 30, who won the Man of Steel while playing for Castleford in 2011, left the club in 2014 to join Salford, where he stayed for two years before joining the Centurions.
However, his time at Leigh was cut short as he decided to leave the game mid-way through the season.
It was later revealed he was battling depression. Not long after Chase signed with the Castleford Tigers for the remainder of the 2016 season. He re-signed for the 2017 season to partner Luke Gale in the halves
At the start of the week Rangi Chase was stood down from the Tigers after an incident over the weekend. It is alleged that Chase assaulted a man at a taxi rank Saturday night. It is understood Chase tried to jump the queue and a man in the line waiting objected and Chase assaulted the man.
The victim is believed to have reported the incident to the police and wishes to press charges against Chase.
