Seattle is believed to have had formal discussions with Cleveland in a possilbe Trade for Joe Thomas.
The Seattle Seahawks are hell bent on improving their offensive line for next season and beyond have, and are targeted 10× Pro Bowl Offensive tackle Joe Thomas
Thomas, 32, is arugbably the best offensive tackle in the game today and before the start of the 2011 season Joe Thomas and the Cleveland Browns agreed to a record setting seven-year $84 million extension with $44 million guaranteed, seeing Thomas ties to the franchise until the end of the 2018-19 season.
Thomas will earn a base salary of $8,300,000 next season, a salary the Seahawks are capable of paying under their current cap space.
The Seahawks had the worse offensive line in the NFL this season and are desperately in need a veteran leader and they have identifield Thomas as their No.1 target going forward.
In 10 years in the NFL, Thomas has been selected to 10 Pro Bowls. He’s been named first team All-Pro 7 times. Despite all that greatness, he’s only played in one playoff game his entire career, and that was as a rookie back in 2007.
The Seahawks need to trade for Joe Thomas to improve a line that helped produce Russel Wilson’a worst season in the NFL and they need to protect their No.1 guy going forward.
Get it done Seattle.
