Super League Round 1 Dream Team

It’s good to have Super League back and what a weekend of great rugby league we had.

St Helens kicked of their season with a hard fought match against the Leeds Rhinos. The Saints taking home the win with a 6-4.

Friday night saw the Castleford Tigers stamp their dominance on the league with a convincing victory over Super League newcomers the Leigh Centurions with a 44-16 win.

The Huddersfield Giants also kicked their season off with a win taking care of business against the Widnes Vikings in a 16-28 away victory.

The upset of the weekend was the Catalan Dragons getting a home win against Warrington. The Dragons were able to hold off a late charge from the Wolves to take the points with a 20-12 victory to start the season.

The other match on Saturday saw the 2016 Super League Champions Wigan Warriors start their 2017 title defence in the right way holding off a late fight back from the Salford Devils, winning 16-26.

The final match of Round 1 saw Hull FC come from behind in a victory over Wakefield in the final 10 minutes. In what was a game full of penalties. Hull FC 6-12 victory.
