Round 3 kicks off with Zak Hardaker coming up against his old club in a match between top of the table Castleford Tigers and Super League giant the Leeds Rhinos at The Mend-A-Hose Jungle.
We take a look at 6 players that (3 from each side) that could shape the outcome to the game.
Hardaker will be the X-factor this one, as he comes up against his old club. Zak scored his first try for his new club against Warrington and will be looking to do the same against the Rhinos, where he made 154 appearances for. Hardaker has 4 try assist to his name already and has also been solid in the No.1 jersey. Expect him to cause trouble for his old club.
What a find Sene-Lafao has been for Castleford, the Samoa forward has been a huge hit t his new club, scoring a try in both the Tigers first 2 games. Leeds need to contain the ex-cronulla forward, as when given space he is hard to stop.
After just two rounds of the 2017 Betfred Super League, Gale has quickly demonstrated why he is considered the games best attacking play and arguably the best player in the game today. Gales’ kicking game and try scoring ability will be a massive threat to the Rhinos and one that they may find hard to stop.
Golding has been brilliant in defence for the Rhinos in the first two games of the season. Golding has made a number of try saves and has been solid under the high bombs from the opposition. He will need to be at his best Thursday night when he comes up against the best attacking side in the competition.
Cuthbertson has started 2017 with a bang, currently leads the league in carries (55), offloads (12) and has crossed the line for a try against the Centurions. Cuthertson will need continue to break the packs Thursday night top open space for the Rhinos veteran halves to cause damage on the scoreboard.
This game is expected to be a shootout, with the Tigers having the ability to pile on the score in quick succession, evident in last week against the Wolves. If this games does turn into a shootout then Leeds need to give this man, Ryan Hall, the ball to force his way over the line. The massive England International winger is arguably the best winger in the world when in form. Hall needs to be at his best if the Rhinos have any chance of defeating the Tigers in this one.
