Washington Redskins Interested In Josh Gordon

The Washington Redskins are believed to have made contact with NFL Bad Boy Josh Gordon.

Gordon, 25, has been suspended for the past two seasons due to violations of the NFL’s drug policy. But, the Cleveland Browns receiver is not giving up on his NFL career just yet, despite his recent struggles.

Gordon applied for reinstatement on March 1 and expects to hear back from the NFL in May. It is understood the Redskins made contact  with Gordons’ management and are very interested in what response he receives from the NFL.

The 25-year-old was an All-Pro in 2013, but only appeared in five games in 2014 and hasn’t played in a regular-season game since.

Even if he is reinstated, it’s doubtful the Browns will give him another chance. The Browns are likely try to trade him or possibly even release him.

The Cleveland Browns have his ‘rights’ for Gordon for two more years after he’s reinstated.

But the Browns have given Gordon numerous chances, and he hasn’t been able to stay on the field for them. He’s been suspended for 43 of their last 48 games, and hasn’t seen the field since Dec. 21, 2014.

With the Redskins seeing their best two Wide outs in DeSean Jackson (Tampa Bay) and Pierre Garcon (San Francisco) depart via free agency, the Redskins are in desperate need to give Kirk Cousins targets for the 2017 season.

The Question is now is Josh Gordon’s ‘Ceiling’ worth the gamble to bring him to Washington.

The Redskins would most definitely offer Gordon a 1-year prove it deal and see if the 25-year can reach the heights of his 2014 season, where he played 14 games, had 87 receptions and went for 1646 yards. Gordon scored 9 touchdowns in that season also.
